Simply getting stronger won’t make you a better rider. What matters is learning to engage the right muscles at the right time to effectively cue and support your horse.
The program is delivered through the PilatesEQ app, combines Pilates, pre ride exercise series, and nervous system regulation techniques designed to help you shift those challenging movement patterns that are holding you back in the saddle. If you're ready to put in the work, you’ll see real improvements—and your horse will thank you for it.
Move through the course with flexibility as new material becomes available each week and all material is available for download.
Abby is a certified Pilates teacher, equine bodyworker, and lifelong equestrian with a BA in Psychology and specialized training in biomechanics and myofascial release for both humans and horses. After overcoming chronic back pain through Pilates, she discovered how deeply a rider's body impacts their horse’s performance. Now, Abby is dedicated to helping riders improve their own movement and biomechanics to become better partners for their horses.
Rider-Specific Training: Learn to engage the right muscles at key moments to refine your cues and enhance your partnership with your horse.
Self-Paced Learning: Move through the program at your own pace, allowing flexibility to fit your schedule while still achieving results.

Supportive Cohort: Join a group of devoted riders who are striving to deepen their relationship and synchronization with their horses, all connecting through the community portal in the app.
In this program we will use a powerful combination of Pilates, neuromuscular work and focused intention exercises to get to the root of our asymmetries and compensations in the saddle.
If you join us and follow this program I guarantee your riding is going to change and your confidence about your riding is going to change.
Every Sunday you will have access to that week’s videos and any information or worksheets (and all before preceding). You will see:
1. That week’s equestrian specific workout designed to build the correct muscle groups, necessary proprioception and neuro muscular connections for riders along with continuing to learn where your strengths, weaknesses, imbalances and dysfunction may be happening as it applies to riding.
2. Your Pre Ride Routine - series of engagement, mobilization & stabilization exercises that are possible to do right before riding as part of your warm up) which are designed and sequenced to properly engage your body as an equestrian.
3. Mindfulness exercise video to do with your horse. This isn’t “woo-woo”. Our physical body is only one component of riding and our horses can feel our heartbeat from up to four feet away. It is just as important to understand how we are feeling mentally and energetically so we can be aware of how that directly affects our rides. These videos will start to teach you how to shift back into an energetic neutral place before you start your ride. Learning these techniques will also help you come back to a neutral place after a spook, buck or anything else that spikes your cortisol.
This is a learning platform so you will also have direct access to me through our community channel or through email to ask any questions that may come up during the week. All participants are welcome to submit video of their riding or exercises for further help or clarification.
This entire program is designed to use minimal props so you can do your exercises at your convenience. For the workouts the only optional props are therabands and a yoga ball. For the pre-ride exercises you won't need any props at all- super easy to do at the barn! After registering you will receive an email with links to therabands and pilates balls for optional purchase.
